TDP Parliamentary District President Palla Srinivasa Rao has condemned the “cheap remarks” made by member Rajya Sabha and General Secretary of the YSR Congress Party V. Vijaya Sai Reddy against TDP leader and former Union Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who was appointed by the AP High was reinstated Court as Chairman of the MANSAS Trust.
At a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that Mr. Reddy did not have the stature to speak about Mr. Ashok, who is immensely respected by the people of northern Andhra. He explained that Mr. Reddy, who does not know the region, only came here for political reasons. He claimed that the YSRCP leader was trying to bring factional politics to the region.
Mr. Reddy devoted much of his speech to the land that is under the control of the Samsthanam and Simhachalam temples, which is a token of his interest in the land, said Srinivasa Rao, and asked the YSRCP leader to apologize for what he said to Mr. Ashok.
The TDP leader claimed that former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s good work of luring IT companies to Vizag was undone as investors shied away from the “unilateral” policies and actions of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. Highly qualified young people who could have secured IT jobs have set up as “volunteers” and carried out door-to-door surveys, he said.
The TDP leader recalled that Mr Naidu had brought the CEO of Franklin Templeton to Vizag in 2018 and he had promised 2,500 IT jobs for the city. The YSRCP government made allegations of land allocation after it came to power and the company withdrew.
