‘The government. does not take into account the associated risk ‘

Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) national secretary general and MLC N. Lokesh said Tuesday that he would not hesitate to take legal action against it.

“The government is not taking into account the risk associated with taking exams during the coronavirus pandemic,” he said during a virtual discussion on “Exams during the coronavirus pandemic and student exposure”.

Mr Lokesh pointed out that more than 560 teachers have died from COVID infection and the pandemic has claimed 11,552 lives in the state to date. “The CBSE and the ICSE canceled the intermediate exams. More than 14 states have followed suit and students there have started preparing for the JEE and NEET entrance exams. But the Andhra Pradesh government is creating confusion among students with its persistent decisions, ”he said.

More than 5 lakh students supported the call for the exams to be canceled in an online campaign. This agitation had been going on for more than two months, he said.
