GO violates HC stay against expropriation of RARS land: petitioners

Rayalaseema Saguneeti Sadhana Samiti’s convener Bojja Dasaratha Rami Reddy claimed on Tuesday that the state government “GO MS. No. 34 in violation of the orders of the High Court ”.

He said the GO is the director of medical education for the establishment of a new state medical college in Nandyal.

Mr Reddy said Monday’s GO referred to Chancellor ANGRAU’s May 27 approval of the expropriation of RARS land, in violation of the High Court Status Quo order of February 3. He and four farmers had filed the public interest litigation in the AP High Court against the proposed sale of RARS land, he said.

Reddy and the four petitioners’ attorney issued a notice to the Special Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Cooperative Department on Tuesday indicating that the expropriation of RARS land was a violation.

The proposed location on the State Seed Farm was approximately 60 km from the existing RARS and it would take at least 10 years to build a Farmer Training Center and other existing facilities such as cold storage, seed processing, processing units and the irrigation system Mr. said Dasaratha Rami Reddy.
