The distribution of Anandaiah’s herbal preparation begins

The distribution of the herbal preparation by Ayurveda practitioner B. Anandaiah was started on Monday decentrally from the Venkaiah Swamy Temple in Golagamudi, near Venkatachalam, in the Nellore district.

The distribution of three variants of the herbal preparation was started under strict security in the villages in the segment of the Sarvepalli gathering by volunteers after the inauguration of the medical camp by YSRCP MLA from Sarvepalli and the district president of the party Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

The move followed the green signal from the state government after the intervention of the High Court. On Monday, up to 20,000 packs of the herbal preparation were distributed, he said.

“We will ensure the distribution of the herbal preparation through our network of volunteers to 1.80 lakh families in the segment of the congregation,” said the MLA.

Meanwhile, Mr. Anandaiah’s supporters cheered when the Andhra Pradesh Supreme Court gave its nod for the distribution of the “K” version of the herbal supplement, which is believed to cure viral diseases.

The approved variants of the herbal supplement would be made available to patients seeking them in the COVID Care centers set up across the district, Mr Anandaiah said. Those seeking the herbal supplement from other districts would also get it if they reached out to him through non-governmental organizations to ensure distribution after following COVID protocols, the MLA said.

Police set up checkpoints in Krishnapatnam and other locations to prevent people from flooding the village. Barricades have been erected at several points along the Chennai-Kolkata highway by police officers under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Nellore, Y. Harinath Reddy.

The police had a hard time preventing crowds from crowding as people arrived by various modes of transport to get packages containing the herb preparation. Many of them came to the village via well-trodden paths via farms.

“Nobody should come to Krishnapatnam alone, as the herbal preparation would only be made available through the district administration first to patients in CCCs within the district and later in other districts,” said the DSP.
