Children should be given nutritional supplements, says Guntur Collector

District collector Vivek Yadav said that nutritional supplements would be provided to children through Anganwadi centers in the district.

After opening an exhibition of multifunctional nutrients in the Revenue Kalyana Mandapam, Mr. Vivek Yadav said that the children were provided with nutritious food and raised awareness of the consumption of eggs, meat and fresh vegetables and nuts against the background of the possibility of a third COVID-19- Wave that affects children.

Joint Collector (VS / WS and Development) P. Prasanthi said that a mix of home-cooked food and nutritious diets would help children develop immunity.

JC (Housing) Anupama Anjali said parents should ensure that children are receiving a nutritious diet.

Later, Mr. Vivek Yadav reviewed preparations for an upcoming third wave with the Health and Medical Department, saying that pediatric departments should be set up in the district hospitals, CHCs and teaching hospitals.

Task Force Committee member T. Chandrasekhara Reddy gave a power point presentation on the steps to be taken to increase preparedness.
