On Sunday, an isolation center with 200 beds for COVID-19 patients was opened at the Korrapadu Social Welfare Hostel in the Singanamala (SC) constituency in the district.
The center, an initiative of the Aluru Foundation, was inaugurated by Anantapur MP Talari Rangaiah and Singanamala MLA Jonnalagadda Padmavathi.

The services here are free, ”he said.
Three doctors from Korrapadu PHC and Bukkarayasamudram were assigned to monitor the patient’s health. The doctors, who are on three different shifts, will visit the center at three different times of the day, said Y. Kameswara Prasad, district medical officer for medicine and health. In addition, 12 Asha employees, nurses and ANMs were hired to look after the needs of the patients.
60 oxygen bottles were procured for the facility with 50 oxygen-assisted beds.
Oxygen masks, stretchers, wheelchairs, backrests, and other equipment were procured for use in the isolation center.
