There are more recreations in South Coastal AP every day

Sixteen other patients succumbed to coronavirus infection despite more than 3,100 patients recovering in one day in the south coast of Andhra Pradesh. The number of recovered patients exceeded the number of patients by more than 900 in the last 24 hours that ended at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

However, deaths in the region continued unabated. Nine patients in Nellore district and seven others in Prakasam district died from the infection, which brought the number of people in the area to 1,571, according to a state government health bulletin on Thursday evening. The pandemic has so far claimed 794 lives in Nellore and 777 in Prakasam.

Cumulative balance sheet

The cumulative balance passed the 2.19 lakh mark as 1,137 people in Nellore district and another 1,069 people in Prakasam district tested positive.

However, the number of active cases continued to decline to 36,723 in the region as 3,173 patients recovered during the period. The recycling rate in the region improved to 82.54%. Active cases in Prakasam and Nellore districts were estimated at 21,726 and 14,997, respectively.

Nellore District Collector KVNChakradhar Babu said the notified governments and private hospitals are prepared to handle cases of black fungus. He urged doctors to take steps to detect such cases early and provide the best health care to patients who developed an eye infection.

Meanwhile, after reviewing the health situation in Markapur city, Prakasam Collector P. Bhaskar said that the COVID management committees would be fully operational in all villages from June 1st. “The spread of the virus can only be controlled if the officials on the ground have adapted to the situation,” he said.
