Naidu calls on the governor to intervene and save the MP’s life

TDP National President N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday appealed to Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan to intervene and save the life of Narsapuram MP, K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, in the State Court.

In a letter to the governor, Mr. Naidu said the MP’s wife and other family members were concerned that they saw a “serious threat” to his life from the YSRCP government.

“Defies court orders”

“The MP was injured while in custody. The court ordered that he be sent to Ramesh Hospital in Guntur for a medical examination. But the police defied the orders, ”claimed Naidu in his letter.

The former prime minister said: “The Andhra Pradesh CID police illegally arrested Mr. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju in Hyderabad on May 14th and took him to the Guntur CID police station, where he was allegedly held in custody. The court ordered a medical report on the injuries Mr. Raju sustained while in police custody. “

According to the court orders, the police should have the MP examined at the Government General Hospital in Guntur and then at the Ramesh Hospital, also in Guntur, Naidu said.

“This should be done in the presence of category“ Y ”security personnel provided by the central government. The police did not take Mr. Raju to Ramesh Hospital for a medical examination and instead transferred him to Guntur Sub-Prison. They led the MP through the back door of the GGH without informing his family members and avoiding the media, ”Naidu told the governor in his letter.

“The governor needs to intervene as Mr Raju has stated time and again that his life is at risk from the ruling dispensation in Andhra Pradesh, the state police and the leaders of the YSRCP,” said Mr Raju, Naidu said.

Mr Raju’s wife, Ramadevi, also feared a threat to his life, adding that the central government had guaranteed the MP’s category “MP” security in 2020 in the face of the threat posed by the ruling YSRCP.

“It’s a sad day for democracy. An elected representative arrested in a coercive case is treated like an ordinary criminal by the state just for speaking out against the government’s wrongdoings, ”Naidu said in his letter.
