Freedom of expression attacked in the state: Sailajanath

APCC President S. Sailajanath said on Sunday that constitutional freedom of expression was being attacked in the state.

In a statement, Dr. Sailajanath police arrested and allegedly mistreated Narsapuram MP, K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju.

He said the YSRCP government is intolerant of anyone criticizing Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Autocratic Rule”

In its “autocratic rule” for the past two years, the YSRCP government had unleashed a rule of anarchy against its political opponents and news networks who refused to follow its line, the congressional leader claimed.

“The Dalit community is at the receiving end of the lawlessness that the ruling party leaders have resorted to,” he said.

“An attack on a seated MP in police custody is unknown. The government is resorting to such acts to divert people’s attention from its failure to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, ”he claimed.

The head of Congress said the court should protect the people’s fundamental right to freedom of expression and expression, and Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan should also hold the government accountable for exceeding its role.
