Raghu Ramakrishna Raju is trying to “defame the government” and has staged a “drama,” he says
Speaking to the media, he said that the fact that the law would take its own course was obvious, as even a MP could be arrested for breaking the Constitution.
Mr. Raju, the YRSCP Narsapuram MP, has gone to the Supreme Court for bail in a riot lawsuit against him.
Mr Rambabu said Mr Raju was only trying to “defame the government” and staging a “drama” by accusing the police of attacking him just to avoid going to jail. Two of the TDP opposition leaders, Atchennaidu and Dhulipalla Narendra, were also arrested by police in Andhra Pradesh but had not complained about being attacked by the police. He said that Mr. Raju was a “great actor” and complained that he was allegedly beaten immediately after his application for bail was denied by the Andhra Pradesh Supreme Court.
People would not believe the TDP version or the MP’s allegations against the YSRCP, as everyone knew the “injuries were due to psoriasis,” he said.
TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu was the man behind Mr. Raju’s drama. He accused and stressed that none of them could gain political leverage or damage the government’s image.
Mr Rambabu called for Mr Raju to resign as MP, claiming he had no right to continue on the YSRCP after breaking party rules and criticizing the government.
46 CDs submitted
The CID had submitted 46 CDs to the court, explaining how the MP had “committed treason” and indulged in “hate speech” directed against certain sections of society and thereby provoking religious hatred among the public. As a public representative, he ignored the well-being of the people in his constituency and lived in Delhi for 14 months while participating in “pro-TDP media channels” to raise allegations against the government, the MLA said.
Mr Rambabu denied the TDP’s allegations that the government tried to kill him and asked what the need was for the government to kill a MP in police custody. He warned of “dire consequences” if the TDP leaders continued their vicious propaganda against the state government.
Mr. Raju violated India’s 10th timetable by betraying the party from which he was elected, he said.
From the Tirupati Bypoll to every election, including the ZPTC, MPTC, Communal and Panchayat polls, Mr. Raju had spoken against the party and “incited people’s feelings” by speaking about caste and religious matters, Mr. Rambabu , had spoken calculated.
Even during the COVID-19 crisis, Mr Raju only targeted the state government with false oxygen supply and vaccination allegations, even though he knew control was with the center, he said.
