The locomotive and carriage of the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul special express jumped over the rails because the Maoists had allegedly removed plates of fish in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh late Friday evening. However, there were no losses.
The bus and engine were switched and the track renovation was completed on Saturday at 10:45 am.
According to information received here, the bus was switched at 4 a.m., but the locomotive was able to get back on track at around 10 a.m. and then the route was opened for service.
Meanwhile, train No. 08515 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Special Express, which is leaving Kirandul on April 25, has been canceled due to the unavailability of the pairing train, according to AK Tripathi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway (E Co R). Passengers were asked to write down the changes.
