Minister rejects a TDP to play politics with education

Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh has criticized the alleged “antics” of Telugu Desam Party leaders in politicizing SSC exams in the state.

The minister said at a press conference here on Saturday after attending the meeting at JNTUA that the state government was trying its best to save an academic year for grade 10 students, but opposition leaders had all sorts of doubts about the parents’ thoughts .

“If you can make constructive suggestions, this is welcome, otherwise you shouldn’t create a situation that disturbs the academic atmosphere,” said Suresh.

He said the exams are scheduled for June and the state government will make the best possible decision in the interests of the students. Academic days were reduced from 220 to 165 and the curriculum by 30%.

“We’re trying to save the health of teachers and students, so we’ve stopped classes for grades 1-9 students by automatically promoting them to the next grade.” he added.
