Vignan, considered a university, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Indian Institute for Millet Research (IIMR) to stimulate research into millet production.
The MoU was signed on Saturday on the university campus between Vice Chancellor MYS Prasad and Principal Scientist ICAR-IIMR, Nodal Officer and CEO of Nutrihub Technology Business Incubator B. Dayakar Rao, on the university campus.
Mr Prasad said an incubation center will be set up on the university campus to expand research into millet production. In addition, all academic, research, advisory and entrepreneurship programs would be developed under the Memorandum of Understanding. Virtual programs would also be conducted between on-campus scientists and the ICAR-IIMR.
Dr. Rao said the MoU would facilitate innovation and groundbreaking research for students, and reward technical assistance and professors as well.
The chairman of the Vignan group, Lavu Rathaiah, the vice chairman Lavu Rudrama Devi, the registrar MS Raghunathan, the dean, the academics, D. Vijaya Ramu, HoD, Chemie and M. Ramesh Naidu were present.
