The SSC exams (grade 10) would take place in the state as scheduled, Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh said on Wednesday.
Speak with The HinduEffective immediately, the minister said the state would adhere to the audit plan as “the COVID situation is under control”.
He said the intermediate practical exams had ended and the SSC exam schedule had been released.
“Half-day schools strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols. We do thousands of COVID tests on teachers and students every day and see very few positive cases, “the minister said, reiterating that there was no cause for concern.
The minister’s statement wins following the centre’s decision on Wednesday to cancel the CBSE grade 10 exams and postpone grade 12 exams to grade XII, due to start May 4, amid the surge in COVID -19 cases across the world in importance country.
“Management of schools and colleges across the state have been warned of violations of the government-issued Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) to ensure COVID-appropriate behavior in their respective locations. If the situation warrants, the school education department can run schools on alternate days, ”he said.
The state has provided physical education classes for students in grades 1 through 10, and half-day schools are currently being held.
Schools reopened last November for students in grades 6 through 12, while classes for elementary school students (grades 1 through 5) resumed in February this year. The decision to reopen schools for senior classes was made after considering their board reviews.
