Srikakulam collector J. Nivas urged people to celebrate Ugadi on April 13th in their homes and not to visit markets and other public places.
Mr Nivas posted a press release here on Monday, saying that the second wave of COVID-19 was spreading rapidly in both rural and urban areas.
“293 cases were reported on Sunday alone. Ten of them are very critical. So it is better to avoid unwanted movement in public places. It is better to stay at home to prevent the second wave from spreading in the district, ”said Nivas. He assured that Tika Utsav would continue in the districts as the required number of vaccine doses is expected to reach the district shortly.
