Base level officials are abused by YSRCP: Naidu

National President of the Telugu Desam Party, N. Chandrababau Naidu, accused the YSRCP government of abusing grassroots officials during his election campaign for Tirupati Lok Sabha party candidate Panabaka Lakshmi on Saturday for fear of “debacle” in the survey “.

“Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was confident of winning the bypoll by a margin of 5 lakh plus, is now troubled,” he said speaking to a series of party workers’ meetings in Nellore district.

He told party cadres that “the days of the TDP’s return to power were not far off” and that they should resist any attempt by the YSRCP government to drive the state into “anarchy”.

The opposition leader accused the ruling party of being bogged down in a group of volunteers, members of the self-help group (SHG), Anganwadi and Asha workers in the villages to improve their electoral prospects.

He asked the party staff in Sarvepalli and other places to expose the ruling party’s “sinister drafts”. He asked them to meet every voter in every cluster with 50 families and find out the problems in different places.

“TDP workers should build confidence with voters that there is no question of denial of their rights to welfare benefits,” he said.

Mr Naidu called on the party leaders concerned to file a complaint with the electoral commission about the alleged abuse of grassroots officials and the election error by the ruling party.

Meanwhile, Ms. Panabaka Lakshmi made herself popular with a group of weavers in Chennur near Gudur by twisting cotton on a charkha. When the weavers remembered the workshed sanctioned as Union minister, Ms. Lakshmi promised to sanction subsidized yarns and dyes and improve marketing opportunities.

Special category status

Ms. Lakshmi campaigned in many villages in the Gudur gathering segment. “Even though the people of the YSRCP gave an overwhelming mandate in the 2019 elections, the ruling party’s MPs in parliament did a little by electing their candidates in 22 of the 25 MP seats in order to achieve the promise of special category status to reach (SCS) to the state. It was the TDP MPs who forcibly brought up the gross injustice the Narendra Modi government had inflicted on the state, who ignored the assurances given to the state at the time of the fork. I will stand up for the cause in Lok Sabha if I am elected in Bypoll, ”she said. while recalling the Prime Minister’s promise to provide SCS for 15 years.

She claimed the BJP at the center and the YSRCP in the state made people’s lives miserable by collecting high taxes. “As a result, the prices of all major goods have risen to unprecedented levels,” she said.
