Gutted two ATMs at Pamidi

Two State Bank of India (SBI) ATMs in their kiosk across from Pamidi bus station in Anantapur district were wiped out in a fire on Saturday. They were on the first floor of a multi-story building.

Deputy District Fireman Aswadh said the Dial 100 received a call at 2:31 p.m. and fire tenders could reach the site at 3:10 p.m., but by then maximum damage had been done. According to Pamidi Police, the bank had not yet filed a complaint about the fire, so the amount of cash burned and the amount of property lost was unknown.

Police said however bank officials said they charged £ 40 lakh on Friday and did not have the information about how much had been withdrawn from the machines.
