The number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped below 3,000 and stands at 2,860 in the Srikakulam district. In April and May there were almost 20,000. According to officials, the ongoing vaccination program has controlled the spread of the corona virus in the district. Up to 2,409 people are in domestic isolation, 109 have been admitted to COVID care centers and 342 have been hospitalized for treatment. Of 5,112 tests carried out, 131 people tested positive on Sunday. So far in the past two years, 1.18.170 have been affected by COVID-19 and nearly 500 people have died from the dreaded disease.
