The banned CPI (Maoist) has appealed to tribesmen and social activists to give their support and make the July 1st called Bandh a success.
The Maoists called Bandh in the Andhra Odisha border area (AOB) to protest the encounter in which six of their members were killed on June 16 in Theegalametta of the Koyyuru Mandal at the Visakhapatnam agency.
In a letter from Ganesh, the secretary of the Special Zones Committee for the Andhra Odisha Border Zone (AOBSZC), the Maoists claimed they provided medicines and food to indigenous peoples during the pandemic.
The Maoist leader alleged the state government had failed to provide medical assistance in the agency’s areas. He also claimed that COVID-19 tests were not done properly in the tribal region and that there were no doctors who could help.
Instead of providing medical aid to the people, the YSRCP government focused on spending money to send police forces inside the agency to attack the Maoists, he claimed.
“Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s goal is to exploit natural resources in the Agency area. Since the Maoists are against it, they are targeted and killed when they meet, ”Ganesh claimed.
“At the last meeting we lost six members. But we will continue our fight for the people, ”he said.
