Krishna district police have claimed to solve a double homicide case that occurred in Kanchikacherla last December.
A married couple, Bandarupalli Nageswara Rao and Prameela Rani, were found dead in their home. Kanchikacherla Police recorded one suspicious death (Section 174 Cr.PC) and started an investigation.
Meanwhile, Penamaluru police, under the confines of the Vijayawada Police Commissionerate, detained three people in an ATM theft case and compared their fingerprints with the fingerprints collected at the Kanchikacherla crime scene.
The defendant entered the house by removing the iron bars and murdered the couple on December 25, said Police Superintendent (SP) M. Ravindranath Babu.
“The defendants’ modus operandi consists of targeting women in isolated locations and single seniors and resorting to chain robbery and theft. The gang was also involved in some ATM thefts, ”the SP said.
“During the interrogation, the defendant confessed to having committed the double homicide in Kanchikacherla. The gang may have been involved in more crimes and a thorough investigation is ongoing, ”added the SP.
