V-Cs discuss modalities of educational quality

AP College Planning Committee meeting held

The Vice Chancellors of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) in Anantapur, Sri Krishnadevaraya University and the Central University of Andhra Pradesh met on Thursday to discuss modalities to improve the quality of education by addressing the latest trends in higher education and gaps to ensure quality support for universities and other colleges.

The state government had combined the three universities in the Anantapur cluster and formed the Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Planning Board (APHEPB) with all vice chancellors / directors of the state universities and central institutions.

JNTU-A Vice Chancellor G. Ranga Janardhana said the APHEPB intends to promote inter-institutional research projects and strengthen inter-institutional relationships, particularly between state and central universities.

As part of this initiative, the Regional Cluster Group consisting of G. Ranga Janardhana, Vice Chancellor, JNTUA; SKU Vice Chancellor M. Ramakrishna Reddy, Vice Chancellor of AP Central University SA Kori took part in the discussion. They provided extensive discussions on the modalities of implementing the core objectives of the APHEPB, including faculty exchange programs, credit transfer, optimal use of facilities between the three universities, ways and means of bridging the gaps between industry expectations and student skills.

JNTU-A Rector M. Vijaya Kumar, Registrar C. Sashidhar, and Director Academic & Planning V. Sumalatha and others also attended the meeting.
