Fire and police personnel stepped up rescue operations to find the two people missing in the Gandikota Project’s backwaters late Thursday.
Sreenu and Suhasini, accompanied by local resident Govardhan Reddy, went fishing Thursday on a land-made ferry near Thalla Proddutur in the Mandal of Kondapuram, which reportedly capsized in the middle of the water. Sreenu swerves to safety, while the other two could not be tracked on Thursday, although the searches continued by experienced swimmers in the dark.
A police team joined the action on Friday and searched for the duo together with the swimmers.
