A 100-day Jagananna Swachh Sankalpam program aimed at cleaning up the villages will start on July 8th, coinciding with the birthday of the former Prime Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
From the day of launch, the government would organize awareness programs in the villages for 10 days. A door-to-door campaign would take place for the next 10 days, followed by programs focusing on solid waste management for an additional 10 days.
Waste management
From the 31st day to the 40th day of the program, efforts would be made to mobilize resources. People are sensitized to the separation of dry and wet waste for 10 days. The construction of municipal septic tanks for liquid waste disposal would be carried out from the 51st day to the 60th day. Task force committees would be formed from day 61 through day 70.
The proposed committees would deal with issues relating to the supply of drinking water and the maintenance of sanitation. Purification of all water resources would be taken from the 71st to 80th day.
In the penultimate 10 days, awareness for the disposal of plastic waste is to be created for 10 days. During the last 10 days of the program, village sanitation plans were approved in grama sabhas.
