The state government intends to give the displaced families the amount of land they acquired for the Polavaram irrigation project by the end of June.
On Wednesday, D. Muralidhar Reddy, East Godavari District Collector, O. Anand, Special Rehabilitation and Relocation (R&R) Officer for the Polavaram Project, and CV Praveen Adithya, ITDA-Rampachodavaram Project Officer, inspected the Indukurupeta R&R Colony in Rampachodavaram Agency.
The tribal families from three villages – Kachuluru, Sudda Konda and K. Gonduru – had been rehabilitated in the colony.
“We are preparing to hand over the land to the displaced families as part of the ‘Land to Land’ component of the R&R package, after which one family will be entitled to the land they saved for the project. The land survey is in progress to give them dispute-free land, ”said Mr Muralidhar.
Financial package
“Almost 75% of the financial package was paid out to the displaced families in the East Godavari Agency. Those who turn 18 will be considered a family for the grant of the package (₹ 6.5 lakh per family) based on the deadline set in their respective places of residence, ”said Mr Muralidhar.
Regarding complaints in the R&R colonies, ITDA and finance officials were asked to ensure the minor work was completed within two weeks.
