The cumulative number rose to over 2.30 lakh in South Coast Andhra when 527 people in SPSR Nellore District and 631 in Prakasam tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours through 9 a.m. Friday.
The positive trend of recoveries versus new infections continued in the region, with 1,776 patients discharged in the Prakasam district and 821 patients in SPSR Nellore, reducing the active case number to 27,253.
The number rose to 1,659 as Nellore reported four deaths and Prakasam reported three in the past 24 hours. According to a health bulletin published by the state government on Friday evening, so far there have been 842 deaths in the SPSR Nellore district and 817 in the Prakasam district.
The recycling rate improved further to 87.44%. Over 1.08 lakh people in SPSR Nellore District and about 93,000 in Prakasam District have so far won the battle against the disease.
