Leopard killed a domestic dog in the sprawling Balaji Nagar here on Friday.
The incident came to light when local residents noticed that the half-eaten carcass of the dead dog was lying in the nearby bushes on the village’s eastern path, which bordered the thick forests.
The residents regret that they are more likely to be forced to live in constant fear without help, even though they have repeatedly taken up the issue with the forest and TTD authorities. “The wild beast’s intermittent forays have tended to force our families to stay indoors, and we seldom dare to move out after sunset,” they said. “It was the big cat’s second incursion this week,” they added.
