Government Whip and Jaggaiapeta MLA Samineni Udaya Bhanu and Krishna Collector A.Md. Imtiaz handed over the sanction orders for the 20 lakh fund to two siblings whose parents recently died of coronavirus infection.
The two children received the sanction orders for 10 lakh each. The amount is deposited as a fixed deposit in the names of the children. The accrued interest is paid to the children annually.
On the occasion, Mr. Imtiaz said that nine such children had been identified in the district so far. The beneficiaries of the program, Sk. Immanuel and Sk. Nazeer Hussain lost their parents Sk. Khaleel and Sk. Reshma to COVID about 15 days ago. Imtiaz said all of these children would be identified and cared for.
Regarding the COVID response, Mr Imtiaz said that a 100-bed Covid Care center has been set up in Jaggaiahpeta and another such facility will be set up in Vatsavai soon.
Mr Udaya Bhanu said that the COVID Care Center in Jaggaiahpeta was a great relief for the people as all facilities were available there. Tahsildar R. Ramakrishna and others were present on the occasion.
