Chief IPS Officer Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao took over the position of Vice Chairman and General Manager of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on Tuesday.
On this occasion he was greeted by corporate officials, employees and representatives of the employee unions. Mr Rao took stock of the situation resulting from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the company.
Mr Tirumala Rao discussed important issues with executive directors and financial advisor such as the operation of buses during the pandemic, the precautions taken, the high-end buses being converted into mobile COVID hospitals to serve patients in remote areas with no health care provide services and other issues.
He also met and thanked Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Mr. Rao is an IPS official from 1989.
