Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government has nothing to boast in its two-year term: Atchannaidu

He wondered what had happened to the YSR Congress’ three-capital decentralization plan

TDP President K. Atchannaidu claimed that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has nothing to boast in its two-year term, except for the welfare systems of the Chandrababu Naidu government, which have been renamed.

Speaking at a media conference on Sunday, Atchannaidu recalled that the YSR Congress government began its rule by destroying the Praja Vedika built by the previous government in order to expose irregularities in its construction.

Subsequently, a number of buildings were demolished by opposition leaders who had not joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), but the illegal constructions of the ruling party’s leaders remained intact.

He wondered what happened to the YSR Congress government’s three-capital decentralization plan, claiming that the state government. would have earned ₹ 2 lakh crore in revenue if Amaravati had been completed.

Mr Atchannaidu said that while the Telugu Desam government received the center’s approval to sanction the Polavaram project for 52,000 crore, the YSR congressional government cut the project cost to 22,000 crore.

He claimed that the Chandrababu Naidu government completed 74% of the work related to the Polavaram project, while the Jagan Mohan Reddy government completed only 2% of the work in two years.

The changes in sand policy introduced by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government had resulted in sand becoming scarce and construction workers losing their jobs. The cost of a tractor load of sand, which was 1,500 yen during the previous administration, has now increased to 6,000 yen.

He claimed that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, instead of imposing an outright ban as announced in its election manifesto, had increased prices of spirits and introduced new brands.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, who criticized Mr Chandrababu Naidu day in and day out for failing to give the state government special category status (SCS), had not taken on the center in the past two years.

Mr. Atchannaidu claimed that not even a single industry had been established in the state in two years, and that even the existing industries were in poor shape.

The government of Telugu Desam had brought KIA Motors and a wireless operator into the state.

He also claimed that the YSR Congress government is in favor of the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) as it is interested in acquiring the VSP’s vacant land.
