Four private hospitals in Anantapur, which charged an additional fee for treating the COVID19 patients, were fined Saturday after an in-depth investigation into their violations last week.
Joint Collector A. Siri drew up a report on these hospitals and fined Asha Hospital, SV Hospital ₹ 2 lakh, Sai Ratna Hospital 2.10 lakh, and SR Hospital ₹ 2.55 lakh. All of these penalties were imposed by the state government in accordance with GO No. These hospitals had offered some beds for COVID19 treatment under Aarogyasri.
Dr. Siri said that in the future, if these hospitals repeat the mistakes and burden patients excessively, they will be brought under criminal proceedings under the Settlement Act.
