The COVID count on Andhra Pradesh’s south coast rose again as the region recorded 2,215 new cases in the past 24 hours, up from 1,626 on Tuesday. This increased the total number of coronaviruses in the two districts to 2.17 lakh.
The number of victims was 1,555 as eight patients each in the districts of SPSR Nellore and Prakasam succumbed to the infection during the reporting period. SPSR Nellore district caused 785 deaths and Prakasam district 770 deaths.
On the brighter side, the number of restores continued to surpass new cases. A record of 3,539 patients recovered during the period, the highest number in a single day during the second wave of coronavirus.
According to information, members of GenY reported the most cases during the second wave. While Prakasam has had at least 22,282 cases in the 25-40 age group, the Nellore district has 15,424 cases in this category.
Meanwhile, well-known doctor Machiraju Ramachandra Rao urged the public to wear a double mask in public places. As a precaution, people should avoid personal contact and avoid social functions whenever possible.
