The coronavirus continued to wreak havoc on the south coast of Andhra Pradesh as 15 patients died and 2,800 patients contracted the infection within 24 hours.
Although there was a slight decrease in new cases the previous day, new cases rose again in the last 24 hours that ended at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The partial lockdown to fight the disease did not appear to have an impact on disease incidence or deaths during the period.
Up to 11 patients in SPSR Nellore district and 4 in Prakasam district died during the reporting period, bringing the death toll to 1,458 in the region. This was the highest daily fee in the region during the second wave of the coronavirus.

The number of active cases exceeded 40,000 as the Prakasam district had 1,590 new cases and the SPSR Nellore district had 1,239 cases. The total number of coronavirus cases thus exceeded the 2 lakh mark.
