Chief Secretary for Health, Medicine and Family Welfare Anil Kumar Singhal said that more than 39,000 people have been identified with COVID-related symptoms throughout the state during the ongoing fever survey and all cases are being followed up by medical teams.
“As of Saturday evening, 39,000 people with fever, cough and other symptoms related to coronavirus infection were identified during the survey conducted by ANMs, doctors and others. The poll is expected to be completed on Monday evening, ”Singhal told the media.
Already 30% to 40% of people identified with the symptoms have been referred for COVID tests and isolation kits have been given away to them, he said.

Regarding mucormycosis (black fungus) infection, he said a detailed analysis was underway with all hospitals in the state and a clear picture would emerge soon.
“The central government has provided 1,600 injection vials for the treatment of mucormycosis and the government will make purchases accordingly,” Singhal said.
He said Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the State Cabinet will take a decision on extending the curfew on Monday after reviewing the situation.
