The episode of MP K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju took another curious turn on Monday when the Supreme Court ordered him to be immediately taken to the Army Hospital in Secunderabad for medical examination and held pending further orders.
Ramakrishna Raju, a Lok Sabha member of the ruling YSR Congress Party, is currently on pre-trial detention in a CID-registered case against him for allegedly promoting dissatisfaction with the state government and delivering hate speech.
The order to send Mr Raju to the Army Hospital was issued by an Apex judicial bank that included Justices Vineet Saran and BR Gavai, who were pending the matter by May 21 for further hearing on the MP’s special leave request on bail Rejected by the AP High Court on May 15.
