The police department formed a green channel to ensure a truck of medical oxygen gets to the Rajiv Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Kadapa on time.
The truck traveled 330 km from Jindal’s Toranagallu plant in Karnataka to reach Kadapa in a record six hours. More than three hours have been saved on the motorway, which is known for its high traffic density.
Equipped with a GPS location function, the movement of the vehicle was constantly monitored by the police in order to avoid problems on the way. The vehicle carried medical oxygen to meet hospital emergency needs.
“We monitored the gap between the supply and demand for medical oxygen on a daily basis. We have created a green channel to ensure the trouble-free transport of the life-saving gas. The escort vehicle that accompanied the truck made sure that all barricades and checkpoints were passed smoothly, ”said SP KKN Anburajan.
The authorities, patients and their companions breathed a sigh of relief when they saw the truck enter the hospital premises at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
