The Srikakulam Police are using drone cameras to better enforce the curfew between 12 noon and 6 a.m.
Srikakulam Superintendent of the Police Amit Bardar personally monitors the video footage and gives the necessary instructions to the police officers who are deputized at various locations.
He told reporters that only people were allowed to travel to their destinations in an emergency. “We have set up an exclusive hotline to help people contact us during the curfew. People can dial 9494466406 for a curfew relief. Traffic DSP chap. GV Prasada Rao has been appointed as the special envoy to oversee requests for exemption, ”he said.
According to him, government officials and others involved in providing basic services to people are allowed to travel as normal without restrictions.
