The National Association of Postal Employees Group C has requested that the central government immediately treat postal workers as frontline workers.
In a statement, NAPEC general secretary Sivaji Vasireddy and LSG accountant Sattenapalli said it was appalling that postal workers who had been exposed to the public all year round had not yet been recognized as frontline workers.
“Even after the service unions have consistently called in, the center still has to respond to the demand for payment of £ 10 as an ex-gratia to the child and relatives of employees who have died due to Covid-19. 19, for years cashless treatment of India Post employees, ”said Vasireddy Sivaji.
Post office staff, including the GDS, are not even vaccinated against Covid 19 like other front-line workers do.
In addition, the association demanded that the employees of the department and the GDS should be granted quarantine leave.
He stated that employee lives were now at risk and completely undated for the department, and said thousands of employees were lost during the first wave.
