BJP leaders held silent protests with posters condemning the attack on party workers, allegedly by TMC cadres in West Bengal, in their respective homes in the city on Wednesday.
BJP State Vice President and former MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju alleged that TMC workers surrendered to the attack sparked by the speech of their leader and West Bengal Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee.
BJP Visakhapatnam District President Medapati Raveendra, Prasad District Secretary General VSN Koppisetty, and Kisan Morcha District President Vasant Kumar attended the protests.
In a separate protest, BJP MLC PVN Madhav and party leader PV Chalapathi Rao carried posters condemning the attacks on BJP workers after the general election results were announced.
They demanded severe punishment of the guilty and support for the injured.
Mr Madhav warned that the BJP would increase agitation if the Mamata Banerjee government did not take action against the culprits.
