Tension reigned at Eluru District Headquarters after liquid oxygen gas leaked from the tanker on the hospital grounds on Friday.
The gas leak stopped within 45 minutes and alternative arrangements were made to provide uninterrupted oxygen to patients in the hospital, hospital authorities said.
“Liquid oxygen leaked from the safety valve of the tanker truck, which was stopped. Approximately 290 COVID patients are being hospitalized at the time of the incident and all patients are safe, “said an official who oversaw the operation.
