Kakinada Municipal Police arrested two people in Kakinada on Tuesday for allegedly saying a prayer in the Government General Hospital’s COVID ward and offering oil as a cure to the admitted patients.
In a press release released on Tuesday, Kakinada DSP V. Bheema Rao said the two people identified as Erupalli Suvaartha Raja, 33 and Sanaboyina Hymavathi, prayed and distributed oil as medicine to COVID patients in the GGH, in addition to that the hospital staff is disturbed. The defendants are from the city of Kakinada.
The police took action following a written complaint from the GGH authorities. “Section IPC 153 (A) and 269 cases were recorded against the defendant and filed in the local court on Wednesday,” the DSP said.
