A tanker caught fire due to a technical problem when it was filled with crude oil on Friday morning at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) site in Madupalli, Inavalli Mandal, East Godavari District.
ONGC communications officer Akrati Bhatia said The Hindu: “The incident occurred on Friday morning while filling up the tanker on the construction site. The technical problem is said to be the reason for the mishap. The fire was controlled immediately and there is no need to panic among the people surrounding the site. “
“A team of engineers was deployed on site to investigate the technical reasons that led to the fire accident,” added Ms. Bhatia. The ONGC fire protection wing rushed to the spot and controlled the fire on the construction site.
