In a historical proclamation, the TTD has claimed that ‘Jabali’ is located in the Anjanadri Hills, which are part of the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara as the original birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
In a formal statement on Wednesday, Sanskrit National University Vice Chancellor Muralidhar Sharma said the TTD had come to the conclusion “after considering all historical, geographical and epigraphic evidence.”
The TTD Pundit Parishad, established specifically for the purpose, also agreed with the results after confirming the evidence.
Professor Sharma, who studied him extensively, said that while various authorities made several claims regarding the actual place of birth, they could not provide material evidence as such to support their claims.
Senior executive KS Jawahar Reddy later reached out to the media and said the TTD would soon take action to take control of “Jabali”, popularly known as “Jabali theertham” and now under the control of the Foundation Department .
When asked, Dr. Reddy that the TTD would bring the problem to the attention of both the state and the central government if necessary, and officially declare “Jabali” the original birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
Claims by people from six other states, including Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Haryana, lacked specific arguments, he said.
Book soon, says EO
“All of the evidence gathered so far will soon be published in the form of a book,” added Dr. Reddy added.
Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilala Purohit, who was present at the declaration event organized in Nada Neerajana Mandapam, approved the TTD’s decision and said he was blessed to be present on the occasion.
TTD Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy, Gopinath Jatti, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer, and Vibhishana Sharma, Special Officer of SV Vedic Higher Studies, were among others present.
