The IX. Additional District Judges Court in Chittoor sentenced 12 people to life imprisonment on Thursday. You have been found guilty of kidnapping, attempted murder, extortion of money and related crimes against a quarry owner.
According to Chittoor Police, a gang of 12 led by local youths Rajesh, Murali, GD Naidu and Hemadri from Thambuganipalle of Bangarupalem Mandal near Chittoor had a granite quarry owner in Bajalingam from Yadamarri Mandal in the Bajalingam area on January 5, 2016 Kidnapped near Chittoor and demanded a £ 2 crore ransom but settled for £ 50 lakh. Bajalingam’s son had paid the money to the gang in the Moghili Ghat section, 30 km from here, that same night, and the hostage was released in a forest location. After the clue, the police arrived, but the four managed to escape.
On February 2, police teams formed by the then SP G. Srinivas captured three of them – Murali, Hemadri and Rajesh – in Yadamarri on the outskirts of Chittoor and confiscated 30 pounds from them, in addition to two motorcycles, an SUV and some gold jewelry. Later nine other defendants from different villages around Chittoor were caught over a period of six months. One of them was charged with the murder of his father.
