East Godavari County Authorities on Monday decided to purchase 2,707 acres of land for residential development for middle-class families in urban areas.
In an official press release, East Godavari collector D. Muralidhar Reddy stated that with the consent of private landowners, the land would be collected under the 2013 Law on the Right to Just Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement .
The highest of 992 acres of land would be required within a three-kilometer radius of the city of Rajamahendravaram. In the smart city of Kakinada, the government is preparing to collect 887 acres of land.
Those looking to sell their land can apply to affected officials, including tax officials and local authorities.
