The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) announced the launch of a portal (https://www.tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in) that will allow users to find out the number of cellular connections issued on their behalf.
DoT deputy general manager A. Robert Ravi said in a press release that the number of cellular connections that can be given to an individual is limited to nine.
However, it has been found that more than nine mobile connections work on behalf of certain users.
To streamline the process, DoT launched the AP Licensed Service Area’s consumer portal, which consists of the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The department will send SMS messages to all these consumers to inform them of the number of cellular connections working on their behalf.
Consumers can visit the portal and report the unneeded numbers. The telecommunications service providers will then take appropriate measures. Consumers are provided with ticket IDs that they can use to track the progress of the requested action.
