National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), N. Chandrababu Naidu, has blamed the YSRCP government and Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the “prevailing wretched condition” in relation to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
He claimed the government tackled the second wave of the pandemic without a strategy.
The former prime minister attended a seminar, chaired by Lok Sabha spokesman Om Birla, on “COVID Spread – Representative Responsibility” organized on Monday, and said it was worrying that the second wave was taking place in Andhra Pradesh is high.
“Andhra Pradesh ranks fifth nationwide when it comes to the one-day infection count. The situation has become miserable. So far, 9.6 lakh have been infected with the virus in the state. The state government did not enforce the COVID protocols. The situation was exacerbated by the government’s failure to comply with core testing, tracing and tracking guidelines, ”Naidu said.
High positivity rate
“The daily positivity rate of 14% to 20% is cause for concern. Leadership skills only appear in catastrophic situations, ”said Naidu.
The TDP president said the government and elected officials should focus on creating better health infrastructure. “It is the government’s responsibility to ensure that paramedical personnel are performing their duties on a war basis and that daily testing capacity is increased. The vaccination process should be accelerated. Control of the coronavirus is possible through coordination between the government, authorities and specific plans, ”he added.
