The Trust Board of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamyvari Devasthanam in Annavaram on Monday approved the proposal to increase the entry fee to the Sanctum Sanctorum of the temple in the East Godavari district from 100 to 200 pounds.
Vendra Trinadha Rao, the temple’s executive officer, said The Hindu Soon after the meeting that devotees seeking darshan from the Sanctum Sanctorum will be served 150g of ‘Bhangi Prasadam’ according to the revised ticket policy. It could be stored for almost two weeks.
The Trust Board also increased the price of prasadam from £ 15 to £ 20 per pack and the amount from £ 125g to £ 150. The prasadam is sold down the hill 24/7.
In an important decision, the board decided to share 40% of the proceeds from the Satyanarayana Vratam tickets with the priests who conduct them on the temple grounds. The proportion of priests was increased by 30% after an appointment.
