District collector Vivek Yadav on Monday asked sub-collectors, tax officials, community commissioners and Tahsildars to ensure that every precaution was taken to contain the infection.
The collector verified readiness to tackle the second wave of the pandemic through a video conference and said that all frontline workers, including those in the Police, Revenue, Panchayat Raj and Secretariat departments, should be vaccinated. So far, 35,962 frontline workers have been given a vaccine.
The details of Monday’s vaccination program were sent to various city health centers and those who do not wish to be vaccinated should provide a medical certificate and letter from the department head concerned, he said.
Mr Vivek Yadav also said a massive campaign should be launched highlighting COVID-appropriate behavior and holding awareness sessions. The campaign should also cover religious locations, schools and hotels. Orders have been issued to deploy Tahsildars and RDOs as incident commanders, and 104 call centers have been set up to resolve COVID-related grievances.
