Tollywood lead actors K. Chiranjeevi and A. Nagarjuna thanked Andhra Pradesh Prime Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for helping the film industry overcome the hurdles created by the Covid pandemic. The duo visited the microblogging website Twitter to thank him.
Chiranjeevi wrote on Tuesday: “My heartfelt thanks go to Hon’ble CM Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the well-deserved relief efforts for the film industry in Covid times. Your compassionate support will help thousands of families who depend on this industry.”
With that in mind, Nagarjuna thanked Mr. Jagan for the much-needed relief to the film industry.
“I thank the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the much-needed relief effort to the film industry in these dark ages of Covid,” he wrote.
The state government has ordered the aid measures to be extended to the film industry and its interest groups in order to ensure that operations are restored.
The government has announced that all theaters, including multiplexes, will waive fixed electricity charges for April, May and June 2020 and defer payment of fixed electricity charges for the six-month period from July 2020 to December 2020.
In addition, the government will grant an interest subsidy of 50% with a maximum limit of 4.5% per annum for loans used by cinemas (excluding multiplexes) operated by banks.
Nagarjuna’s film Wild dog was recently released and Chiramjeevi’s film Acharya will be released soon.
