KS Jawahar Reddy, executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), said on Friday that action would be taken against those trying to distort the institution’s image.
“Cases have been filed against a few people in which unsubstantiated allegations have been made against the administration and supporters’ feelings have been undermined,” he said.
The TTD has also recorded a libel case against a former public official for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the facility in the Assam hair seizure case, despite detailed clarification on the issue.
He appealed to the pilgrims to inform the call center about malicious content against the TTD on social media platforms.
Anchoring the interactive pilgrimage session, he said efforts are being made to minimize donation-related advertising on the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) and reduce the crowd in the queues. A toll-free number is to be made available to pilgrims to resolve their complaints in Tirumala, he added.
Mr. Jawahar Reddy urged pilgrims to get vaccinated before visiting the sacred shrine and said that the feedback they give will be important in further improving the quality of the food served under Nitya Annadanam.
Extensive arrangements are being made for the great conduct of Plavanama Samvatsara Ugadi – New Year’s Day in Telugu on April 13th – along with Asthanam and Panchanga Sravnam in the temple of Lord Venkateswara, he said.
